III Exam Dates 2026: Licentiate, Associate and Fellowship Schedule
The Insurance Institute of India holds its professional exams four times a year, in March, June, September and December. Each cycle runs the same way: a registration window first, then slot booking, then the exam itself over two weekends, then results. Licentiate, Associate and Fellowship papers all sit in those same four cycles.

What happens in each phase
1. Register
Pick your papers and pay the enrolment fee on the III website, inside the registration window. Miss it and the next chance is the following cycle, about three months later.
2. Book your slot
A few weeks later, slot booking opens. This is where you choose your exam centre, date and time from whatever is still free, so booking early gives you more to choose from.
3. Sit the exam
Exams run across two weekends. You sit yours at the centre and time you booked. The paper is multiple choice and taken on a computer at the centre.
4. Get your result
Results are published on the III website by the end of the exam month.
Where you can take the exam
In India
Centres run in 180+ cities, covering nearly all states and union territories. You pick yours during slot booking, from whatever is still free, which is the practical reason to book early rather than late.
Outside India
24 overseas centres. The Gulf ones are Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Doha, Muscat, Riyadh, Kuwait, Bahrain. Others include London, Singapore, Kathmandu, Colombo, Dhaka, Mauritius and more.
That is a summary rather than the full list. III publishes the complete centre list with each cycle, so check III’s examinations page for the centre nearest you before you book.
Two things worth knowing first
New candidates register as a member first
If this is your first III exam, there are two steps, not one. You register as a member of the Insurance Institute of India, then pay the enrolment fee for each paper you want to sit. Both have to be done inside the registration window.
Two courses run only twice a year
The Advanced Diploma in Life Insurance Underwriting (AIU) and the Certificate Course on Compliance, Governance and Risk Management in Insurance (IRCC) are held in June and December only, not in all four cycles.

While you wait for your exam
The gap between registering and sitting the paper is where the work actually happens. We have been making practice questions for III papers since 2011: real multiple choice questions, chapter by chapter, plus full mock tests timed like the real thing. Every paper has a free demo, so you can see the questions before you decide anything.
